NORTH TEXAS

Are you in the
storm’s path?

Severe alerts and live weather coaching — play by play, exactly where you are. And when nothing is coming, we say that too.

WHY THIS EXISTS

A tornado warning.
No tornado. Just hail.

I was out in the street, storm spotting. My neighbors were in the bathtub with their kids, scared.

My mission is to take the fear and media hype out of severe weather, so people can have peace through understanding and knowledge. Part of that is honest alerts, based on forty years of weather science and experience.

— Corey Light, No Hype Weather

When the sirens go off,
they don’t tell you why.

A tornado already on the ground, a radar signature that may never become one, or hail three towns over setting off the whole county — they all sound exactly the same.

This app tells you which. Whether a tornado has actually been observed or is only radar indicated, how far the storm is from you, and which way it is moving.

If everything interrupts you, nothing does.

Tornado, severe thunderstorm, flash flood and ice warnings interrupt you. Routine advisories appear in the app but never buzz your phone.

What’s free.

Radar, National Weather Service alerts and the severe outlook are free for everyone. Life safety is not behind a paywall.
